Programme 1

In the first programme Peter first visits the stunning Loch Lomond course designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish and plays with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa. After their game, Dame Kiri talks at length to Peter whilst delivering post on the Royal Mail boat to the islands of Loch Lomond.

Peter drives on to Skibo Castle, where he interviews HRH The Duke of York in the Library. The Duke of York, gives his first personal interview and opens up about his family’s view of the game, his golfing ambitions to enter the ‘Open’ sometime and his introduction into the game.

Afterwards in absolutely driving rain Peter and HRH are joined by the Very Reverent James Simpson – The moderator of the Church of Scotland (equivalent to an Archbishop) at Royal Dornoch GC.

Peter next drives up to the most northerly course in mainland Britain – a 9 hole course at Durness. There he contrasts the windswept course built and designed by the members with the extravagance and exclusivity of Loch Lomond. Whilst at Durness he plays a round with “Tattie” a fish porter in the local port.

Each programme will be digitally remastered subject to adequate financial support and all are available to broadcast subject to terms being agreed.
